Mr. Small lives in Las Vegas.
Ken is the majority owner in SSA. Ken personally leads the project team on some
projects as a
LEED accredited professional on all LEED projects and other selected
architectural projects. He has over twenty five years of experience in the
practice of architecture, planning, interior design, and specifications.
Nineteen years ago Small arrived in Las Vegas after owning his own practice in
Texas since 1985. In 1993 Ken established the precursor of SSA practicing under
the assumed name of ABKS - Architecture By Ken Small. Ken has over 26 years
experience in computer aided drafting. He was an early adopter of AutoCAD and
an AutoLISP programmer and trainer of almost every mainstream software from
1987 to 2006 when his primary focus extended primarily to firm leadership. Ken
uses computer modeling (software) of building performance including daylighting
and energy efficiency. He mandates staff performance, and productivity goals.
Ken is the
principal in charge of design and sets the philosophical basis for the
conceptual design. Ken has won multiple design awards. Ken has a diverse
architectural background having worked extensively in almost all construction
technologies, building codes and building types since entering the profession
over 25 years ago. Currently much of the work that Ken is involved in is
retail, office, hospitality, educational and medical. Ken is the principal in
charge of design, marketing and IT at SSA.
