SSA LOGO Model of the First Twin Lakes Project

Ken Small's experience with Twin Lakes Elementary School started with providing an existing facility survey and comparative analysis on 2000.  This led to a facilities assessment and conceptual designs for a phased replacement of many parts of the existing school.  The architectural model above shows the north side construction phase.  The other photos show work done on a second construction project on the south side of the campus.  The old campus was comprised of a series of smaller additions that were constructed over a long period of time.  The purpose of the phased replacement was to make the school become closer to the standards of recent prototype elementary schools.  The new multipurpose room and administration buildings designed by Ken were widely hailed as a wonderful improvement by the students, faculty and parents as well as the CCSD facilities staff.  This project also included major remodeling of classrooms and the old MP room was made into a library.
